Magic is timeless (look 97) #DISCOVERCHANEL (Look 97)

One thing that will last a lifetime, or a hundred that will last a day ...

When I was very young, my great grandmother always told me: "When you grow up, you will understand the difference between having one timeless piece of clothing, instead of a million that will last a day"

Obviously I was too young to understand what she was talking about, much less know anything about quality standard or a thing called a "brand".

Now that a few years have passed since she spoke those words to me, I understand clearly  what my grandmother was trying to teach me. It is no coincidence that today, one of my greatest pleasures is to go into her closet and take half of the things she's been collecting for years and years! Everything is in mint condition. And I'm talking about 1940s vintage pieces!

Quality is not about buying the most expensive things in the world. We misunderstand the concept. It seems that the more we spend or the more we have, is what defines who we are and therefore how much we're worth.

Thankfully, nowadays we all have the opportunity to find quality in things at prices that will suit our lifestyle.
Again, we don't necessarily have to spend our month's rent on a bag, but know that if we do, it has to be invested in something really worthwhile. We need to learn the art of "buying", "consuming" and "purchasing".

Tommy Girl (LOOK 95)

Hello everyone! First of all, I owe you an apology for being so absent during the past week. I flew to Paris last minute and between the plane, the jet lag, project in which I was working on, I had no time to edit photos. But hey, I'm back!

You have no idea how excited I am to tell you all the deets of my trip to Paris with CHANEL. Stay tuned because I'm going to post everything in few days. I'm sure you're gonna love it :)

This look was for the Tommy Hilfiger show in New York.
One of my favorite shows ever and one of the most anticipated each season during NYFW.
This season, as usual, the brand completely exceeded our expectations.
The inspiration for the collection was very nautical but super feminine and extremely chic.

The american brand transformed the gigantic Park Armory into a huge cruise, yes, a gigantic ship where models walked to the rhythm of Michael Jackson. It can't get any cooler than this!

With a 30s era inspiration the brand opted for delicate silk dresses with embroidered collars, coats, wide at the waist pants and striped sweaters.

Definitely this collection was, if not my favorite, one of my favorite of all I've seen on previous occasions.

I'm sure this will be your favorite too. Take a look at the collection HERE

Love Xx MIKA.

I'm wearing Tommy Hilfiger total look, Jimmy Choo boots.

Concrete Jungle… (Look 48)

It feels good to walk around NYC wearing a pair of denim shorts and a simple T-shirt after all the fashion craziness of NYFW. It somehow feels good no to be running around wearing a pair of killer heels and enjoying a great meal with good friends at one of my favorite spots in the city, Cafe Gitane. If you happen to be in NYC you can't miss this laid-back /cool restaurant. Order the avocado toast and the harts of palm salad. Trust me, you will love it.

I'm wearing Wildfox shirt, H&M shorts and booties, Vintage kimono and Chanel bag.

NYFW City Flower / Michael Kors ( Look 46)

During NYFW I had the chance to attend to Michael Kors fashion show. I was super excited about this collection in particular because I personally love the coolness and the feminine touch of the brand. I loved the collection specially because everything was simple yet sophisticated and wearable. The show was filled with lots of denim and A skirts with simple tshirts and masculine shirts. As usual, Kors never disappoints!

I'm wearing H&M Skirt, crop top and blazer, Aldo shoes and Michael Kors bag.
