5 Layering Tips (Look 94)

Layering clothes was a necessity during Fashion Week in NY. The cold was almost unbearable.
This is why I played with the "layering" trend for this look. For those who do not know, "layering" is a trend that has been everywhere lately, especially during winter.  The art of "Layering" is to play with different pieces for example; a shirt, a sweater neck "V" a parka over her shoulders and XL scarf.
The point of all this is to ensure that each of the parts work together in order to achieve a certain harmony in the look.

Mika's 5 layering tips

1 - Don't be afraid to combine things together. The whole point of this trend is play with colors, shapes and textures. At the end there is no rule as such. You'll start realizing what works and what does not.

2 - If you do not want to feel bulky I recommend you use a sleeveless turtleneck sweater so the layering effect is there but you don't look Hulk when you leave home.

3 - This trend also takes for dresses or skirts. For example, a Maxi dress with XL sweater and a bag of dressing up is my favorite choices.

4 - Combine textures and prints. Matching everything from head to toe is no longer a rule, on the contrary, combining different prints and materials will help you create a more original and fun look.

5 - If you want to give a more sophisticated touch to the look you can add a belt to the waist above the layers. Of course, these have to be very thin layers otherwise the belt will not close and you will look like Santa's wife.

I'm wearing Hugo Boss pants, blazer, shirt, handbag and shoes, Essentiel Antwerp sweater and Related Apparel coat.

Xx Love, Mika.
